Escanaba Freshmen Roll; Varsity Showdown Friday
![]() ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School freshmen football team beat the Gladstone Braves, 38-0, Thursday night at the Escanaba Athletic Field. Ryan Randall scored two first half touchdowns and the Eskymo defense had seven quarterback sacks. The Eskymos also won Tuesday night's junior varsity game, leading up to Friday night's big varsity game in Escanaba between the 6-0 Braves and 5-1 Eskymos. ![]() Besides Randall's two first half long TD runs, quarterback Brandon Frazer scored on a one-yard sneak. Riley Lamb had three quarterback sacks in the first half alone while Kahler Geyer had two QB sacks. Collin Arnt had a pass interception for the Eskymos. Gladstone's Wyatt Gierke had the biggest offensive play of the game for the Braves, breaking off a long run to the Eskymo four yard line. But the Eskymo defense had three straight sacks and the Braves ended up punting. The two teams will play again next week. The varsity game on Friday starts at 7:00.
