Eskymos Recover From Rough Start To Stop Eagles
![]() ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School volleyball team dug a big hole early, but recovered to post a 3-1 win over the Stephenson Eagles Thursday night in Escanaba. The scores were 29-27, 25-22, 19-25, and 25-22. The first game was an epic one as the Eskymos fell behind 20-8, with nine points in a row coming on the serve of the Eagles' Karlee Kuntze. But the Eskymos rallied, as Taleise Lawrence had a service run of her own and Dacota Lambert had several big kills. ![]() In the second game, Stephenson also jumped to an early lead, but Lexi Chaillier had four kills as the Eskymos went up by two games, 25-22. The Eagles extended the match with a 25-19 win in Game #3 before the Eskymos finished the match. Escanaba is off until next Saturday, October 7, when the Eskymos host the annual Elks Invite.
