Gladstone 9-10 Boys Score; Fall To Iron Mountain
![]() NORWAY---The Gladstone Minor Boys (age 9-10) lost for the first time in the district tournament late Friday night in Norway, falling to Iron Mountain North, 8-2. Gladstone scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the first inning while trailing 2-0, and then Justin Malmstead had a lead-off double in the sixth inning and later scored on a grounder. Gladstone had four base hits in the game. Zac Hanson took the pitching loss. Further details were not provided to us as of this posting, at 4:05 a.m. ET on Saturday. Iron Mountain North had dominated the recent Yooper Tournament, winning three games by a combined score of 35-1. And Iron Mountain had shut out its two opponents in the district area tournament, so Gladstone's two runs is an accomplishment. Norway beat Munising, 8-3, in Friday's loser's bracket game. Gladstone will face Norway Saturday afternoon at 3:00 ET/2:00 CT at Marion Park. Gladstone lost to Norway, 16-9, in the Yooper Tournament.
