Fifteen Upper Peninsula Girls Make All-State Teams

ESCANABA---The Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association is out with its 2016 All-State Teams, and the Upper Peninsula is well-represented. A total of 15 girls were named to their division's All-State teams, with eight coming in Division Four.

The girls who were honored:

Chelsea Wiggins, Marquette, First Team

DIVISION TWO
Taylor Rathe, Escanaba, First Team
Emily Bruntjens, Escanaba, First Team
Katie Ross, Escanaba, Honorable Mention
Sydney Wickman, Kingsford, Honorable Mention

DIVISION THREE
Tasi Martinez, Gladstone, First Team
Jenna Steinhoff, Gladstone, Honorable Mention

DIVISION FOUR
Lindsey Knuth, Rapid River, First Team
Dominique Pavlat, Rapid River, First Team
Rhiley Hubert, Rapid River, First Team
Hannah Kanyuh, Rapid River, First Team
Erika Schwartz, Rapid River, Honorable Mention
Bobbi Hulce, Norway, First Team
Kelsey Huffman, Newberry, Honorable Mention
Sara Cameron, Newberry, Honorable Mention

The Upper Peninsula High School All-Star Games will be held on Tuesday at Rapid River High School. There are 42 girls from 18 U.P. high schools signed up to play in the games. The two, six-inning games will start at 4:00.
