Johnson Breaks School Record As JV Braves Roll

CALUMET---Darin Johnson threw for five touchdowns and ran in two others to lead the Gladstone Braves junior varsity football team to a 63-18 win over the Calumet Copper Kings Friday evening in the Keweenaw.

Johnson broke a school record for touchdown passes in a junior varsity season, and then sat out as the rest of the game as it finished on a running clock.

Three of Johnson's touchdown passes went to Jared DeMeuse in the first half. His record-setting TD pass was caught by Kyle Darmogray midway threw the third quarter.

Kicker Adam Bruce was busy, as he made all nine extra-point kicks for the Braves.

Gladstone's JV's finished a successful season with a 7-2 record.
