Escanaba 7th, 8th Graders Finish Football Seasons

ESCANABA---The junior high school football season came to an end Tuesday night as the Escanaba 7th and 8th graders faced the Menominee/Marinette Hornets in a pair of games at the Escanaba Athletic Field.

The Escanaba seventh graders won, 38-0, while the M&M eighth graders won, 33-13.

In the seventh grade game, quarterback Brandon Frazer had a big night, involved in three touchdowns.

The play of the game was a 75-yard "hook-and-ladder" pass on the last play of the first half as Frazer threw to Carter Hudson, who then tossed it to Ryan Randall.

Another big play was a 70-yard kickoff return by Thomas Hubert on the second half kick-off, setting up a short Frazer touchdown run.

In the eighth grade game, Escanaba was blanked in the first half, 19-0. Quarterback Josh Bruntgens scored on a 77-yard touchdown run, but it was called back on a penalty.

Escanaba's seventh graders finished their season with a 6-1 record, with the only loss to an eighth-grade All-Star team from Sheboygan, Wis.

The Eskymo eighth graders finished with a 5-2 record, with both losses coming to Menominee/Marinette.
