Sault's Pullar Stadium In Final Four For Hockeyville

SAULT STE. MARIE---The voting for Kraft's Hockeyville campaign continues as Sault Ste. Marie's Pullar stadium has been named one of the four finalists from thousands of applicants throughout the nation.

The winning city receives $150,000 to go towards renovations and improvements, as well as, the winning city will host an NHL preseason game.

Pullar Stadium was in the final ten arenas entering last week's first round of voting, and now, the second round of voting begins. The City of Sault Ste. Marie is now guaranteed $40,000 to help make improvements to the Pullar, regardless of the next vote.

Pullar Stadium is the former home of the Lake Superior State men's ice hockey program.

The historic arena also housed the Detroit Red Wings' training camp from 1948-1958.


The Pullar, which was constructed in 1939 and is one of the oldest artificial ice rinks still operating, is the current home of local high school and junior hockey teams. Many youth and adult recreation leagues also call the Pullar Stadium home.


This second phase of voting period begins at 12:01 Tuesday morning, and it ends Wednesday night at 11:59 p.m.

Each eligible voter can vote fifty (50) times per method per day during each of the three Voting Phases. This could equal at least 150 votes per person per day, which is why it would be a huge help and greatly appreciated if you could take a moment to vote each day and to forward this email to friends, family, staff…anyone! Every vote counts.
