Big Inning Helps Norway Knights Drop Ironwood

BARK RIVER---The Norway Knights scored five runs in the third inning to break a 1-1 tie and they cruised to a 9-4 win over the Ironwood Red Devils Wednesday in a MHSAA Division Four regional semifinal game in Bark River.

Michael Peterson, Tyler Spring, Alex Ortman, and Carson Chartier all has RBI hits in that big inning for the Knights. Peterson drove in three runs and Brent Lagina had three hits to lead the Knights.

Gannon Bray pitched the first three innings, allowing one run on four hits. Isaac Lorenzoni pitched one inning in relief, then Nolan Amundson threw three innings of shutout ball to close it out. 

The Knights (12-10-1) will travel to Pellston on Saturday to face Gaylord St. Mary in the regional final. Game time is 12:30 ET/11:30 CT. The first game at 10ET/9 CT will feature Rudyard and Maple City Glen Lake. The two regional champs will then meet Saturday afternoon in the super regional final, with that winner going to the Final For at Michigan State University.
