Northern Michigan University Men's Soccer senior defender Kevin Hoof (Maple Grove, Minnesota) was named NCAA Division II Men's Scholar All-North/Central Region Team by the United Soccer Coaches the organization announced Monday afternoon. It is the second-consecutive season that Hoof has received the honor.

The criteria for being eligible for the honor include a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher, must have started in 50-percent of their team's contests, and be an elite player or contribute to their team's success

Hoof earned a spot on the USC Scholar All-Region Team with a 3.44 GPA in Neuroscience.

In 2018, Hoof helped NMU hold their opponents to just 1.05 goals per game while also adding a goal and an assist on the offensive end en route to first team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors. Hoof helped the Wildcats to six shutouts this season including five-consecutive to end the month of September.

For the second straight season, the Wildcats ended their campaign having set a number of records and reached program firsts. For the first time in the three-year history of the NMU Men's Soccer program, the Wildcats finished with a .500 overall record and matched last season's win total.
