Eskymos Continue Homestand With Another Sweep
ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School baseball team improved to 5-1 on its season-opening homestand Saturday with a doubleheader sweep of the Peshtigo Bulldogs, 12-10 and 17-2, at Al Ness Field. In the opener, Courage Krueger went 5-for-5 with 3 RBI. Craig Kamin went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs. Kamin started on the mound and Grant LaMarche got the win in relief. In the second game, Escanaba scored nine runs in the first inning and won on the mercy rule. Josh Bruntjens, LaMarche, Johnny Schlenvogt, and Jake Anderson had two hits apiece. Schlenvogt pitched all four innings for the win. Escanaba had 30 hits in the doubleheader: 17 in the opener, 13 in the nightcap. Escanaba hosts Gladstone Tuesday night in a JV-varsity doubleheader.
