TOUGH BATTLE: Braves Eliminated By Boyne City
 GLADSTONE---The Gladstone High School volleyball team had its season come to end on Monday night in the Class B district quarterfinals as the girls lost to Boyne City, 3-1, in Gladstone. The games were all close, but the Ramblers headed back downstate with a playoff victory, 25-22, 25-23, 16-25, and 25-22. And the Braves came oh, so close, to forcing a deciding fifth game. Gladstone took a 12-9 lead in that fourth period, but hit a dry spell offensively and fell behind, 21-14. The Braves roared back with seven straight points to tie things up at 21. But after a Rambler timeout, the visitors were able to regroup and get four of the final five points to earn the win. Boyne City visits Cheboygan in the semifinals on Wednesday.
