Eskymos Recover From Rough Start To Stop Eagles
ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School volleyball team dug a big hole early, but recovered to post a 3-1 win over the Stephenson Eagles Thursday night in Escanaba. The scores were 29-27, 25-22, 19-25, and 25-22. The first game was an epic one as the Eskymos fell behind 20-8, with nine points in a row coming on the serve of the Eagles' Karlee Kuntze. But the Eskymos rallied, as Taleise Lawrence had a service run of her own and Dacota Lambert had several big kills. In the second game, Stephenson also jumped to an early lead, but Lexi Chaillier had four kills as the Eskymos went up by two games, 25-22. The Eagles extended the match with a 25-19 win in Game #3 before the Eskymos finished the match. Escanaba is off until next Saturday, October 7, when the Eskymos host the annual Elks Invite.
