Powers-Spalding Comes Out To Support NCA Jets
POWERS---The North Central Jets were playing in the state semifinals 400 miles away in Lansing, but that didn't stop Powers-Spalding-Hermansville residents from coming out to support the team. They poured into LaBelle's Inn for a viewing party. Other viewing parties were held at the Sidetrack, and at the Island Resort and Casino. "They've done fantastic and they're gonna come back with another trophy this year," Jets supporter Karen Anderla said. "This is a big boost for the school system. It's a good boost for everybody in the community." "What these kids have done for this community is unexplainable," Jets supporter Justin Poupore added. "The way that they've brought us together...and at the same time, we'll support them in every ascept. You can see by the crowd that's here tonight. Most of them were able to make the trip down to the Breslin Center. We have nothing but love and support. That's what this team is built on. Love for each other." The crowd inside LaBelle's Inn roared every time the Jets scored as they watched on televisions near the bar, as well as on a big-screen TV. The Jets jumped to a 24-4 lead and rolled to a 64-23 win over Fulton-Middleton Thursday to advance to the state championship game Saturday morning against Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes. MORE |
