Northern Michigan U. Announces Football Schedule

MARQUETTE, Mich. -- The Northern Michigan University athletic department and fourth-year head coach Chris Ostrowsky announced Wednesday the upcoming 2015 Wildcat football schedule which features six home games at the Superior Dome, including a non conference outing.

"I think this is the best home schedule we have had with six home games in the Superior Dome," said Ostrowsky. "It should be very exciting for our fans as we host five conference games and one out of conference game."

"On the road, we get to visit our local rival Michigan Tech for a prime time 7 p.m. kickoff on September 26. The schedule is always great because we get to compete in one of the most challenging DII conferences in the country. I am excited, and honored to lead this team into the 2015 football season."

The Wildcats open the 2015 season at Northwood at 1 p.m. Sept. 5  before opening up their home schedule in a non conference matchup against Quincy at 4 p.m. Sept. 12. That day will be Youth Sports Day and Dinner and Movie Night at the Superior Dome.

The Wildcats will host Hillsdale for homecoming at 4 p.m. Sept. 19 before traveling to face off against rival Michigan Tech at 7 p.m. Sept. 26  for the Miners Cup.

NMU returns home for a pair of home games Oct. 3 & 10. First up is Saginaw Valley State at 4 p.m. Oct. 3. During that game the Wildcats will be hosting a Children's Cancer Fundraiser before the Wildcats host Malone during Family Weekend at 1 p.m. Oct. 10.

NMU travels to face Wayne State on Oct. 17 before returning home to face off against Ashland at 1 p.m. Oct. 24. The game against Ashland will feature the the 61st Annual Band Day.

NMU then travels to Walsh on Oct. 31 before hosting last season's GLIAC Champions, Ferris State at 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Superior Dome. Against Ferris the Wildcats will honor the senior members of its squad on Senior Day.
