Gladstone Graduate Cretens Transfers To Finlandia

HANCOCK---Gladstone High School graduate Michael Cretens will play basketball this fall at Finlandia University in Hancock.

Cretens is transferring to Finlandia from Gogebic Community College, and will play for former Negaunee High School basketball coach Mike O'Donnell at Finlandia.

Cretens is a 6'1" guard that played in all 31 games and averaged 4.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game for the Gogebic Samsons last season.

In his senior year at Gladstone he was named to the 2013 All-U.P. 2nd Team Class ABC and the 2013 Great Northern Conference 2nd Team All-Conference.

"In Mike we are getting someone with 30 plus games of collegiate basketball experience, which will be a nice benefit to our program as we anticipate having a fairly young roster," said Coach O'Donnell. "He is a hard-nosed kid who plays with lots of energy and is an outstanding shooter from the perimeter."
