Johnson Hat Trick Leads Eskymos Past Flivvers, 4-1

WELLS---The Escanaba High School hockey team cruised to a 4-1 win over the Kingsford Flivvers Friday night at the Wells Sports Complex, beating the Flivvers for the second time this season. Escanaba outshot Kingsford, 31-9, in a dominating performance that saw the Eskymos improve their record to 11-4-0 on the season.

Graham Johnson scored another hat trick, getting three more goals to give him 25 on the season, along with 14 assists. Escanaba has played 15 games, and Johnson now has 39 points. Ben Sands assisted on three goals for a playmaker, and Nick Martinson added two assists. Hank Sholten scored Escanaba's only goal.

Kingsford (7-4-0) got a goal from Casey Clisch, assisted by Will Murvich. Goaltender Nate Scullon stopped 27 of the 31 shots he faced.

Escanaba returns to action Saturday afternoon with another home game against Sault Ste. Marie. That game will start at 3:00 at the Wells Sports Complex.
