MARQUETTE, Mich. --

The loss dropped Northern to 8-4 on the season and 2-2 in GLIAC competition.

NMU also lost to Grand Valley State, 23-4, on Friday.

The Panthers pounced early, scoring on each of their first three possessions to start the game as their goal leaders Anna Glynn (x2) and Ayanna Turrubiates continued their impressive 2022 campaign's to give the visitors a quick 3-0 edge in the game's first three minutes.

The Wildcats found their first from Emily Renfrew to make it 3-1. Aleya Speas layed out a nice pass as Renfrew cut to the net and fired one into the nylon.

Davenport pushed the game back to running-time by picking up the next two to make it 16-6. Blakely Malpass and Avery Garant recorded third quarter goals for the Panthers.

Bittell had a quick answer for NMU to stop the clock, picking up two more goals less than a minute apart for five on the game. Maddi Bast added a score in the closing seconds of the third quarter as NMU outscored DU 6-2 in the frame, but trailed 16-9 entering the final 15 minutes.
