The Rapid River High School volleyball team won its second match of the season Thursday night, outlasting the rival Mid Peninsula Wolverines, 3-2, in a marathon match at Mid Pen High School. The scores were 23-25, 25-20, 26-24, 21-25, 15-12. The Rockets program did not win a match in 2022, 2023, or 2024.
Rapid River High School is pleased to announce Katie Poma as the new Head Coach for the Girls' Varsity Basketball team. Katie is a 2004 graduate of North Central Area Schools. She earned her elementary education degree from Northern Michigan University in 2009 and holds a master's degree in educational technology from Central Michigan University and teaches math at Gladstone Junior High.
