KILLER E's: Ezra, Enzo Lead Redmen In Finale, 5-1
SAULT STE. MARIE---The Marquette boys varsity soccer team traveled to Sault Ste Marie Wednesday night for the regular season finale vs the Blue Devils. Ezra Pickard got the Redmen on the board first from a John Weber pass and a 1-0 halftime lead. Enzo Stabile scored 30 seconds into the second half for a 2-0 lead. Assisting Stabiles goal was Ethan Sandstrom. Pickard then got his second of the night from Kaleb Chipelewski. The Soo cut the lead to 3-1 before Pickard completed a hat trick off a Nick Lindberg pass. Axel Vermaat then completed the scoring for a 5-1 win on a Pickard assist. Harrison Anthos faced 5 shots in net. “Ezra and Enzo were our bright spots tonight. It was a good tune up for the UP’s next week and still showed that we have work to do," Marquette Coach Dan Salmon said. Marquette finishes the regular season 19-2 and play in the UP Finals on Saturday the 16th.
