"I've been running all winter to prepare for this (high school) season," Douglas said. "I'm going to try to break two minutes in the 800. That's going to set me up really well going into college." Douglas will be studying pre-dentistry up in Duluth. "I'm really happy with my decision to run at St. Scholastica," Douglas said. "I went and visited. I really liked their coaches. I think they're a great fit. It's going to be pretty cold, and we're going to be running year-round with cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track. For the track season, I'll be running middle-distance events, like the 400, 800, and mile. And I will specialize in the 800." And in cross country this fall, Douglas will have to adjust to the 8K and 10K races, which are longer than the high school races. |
