Eskymos Rout Alma; Repeat As District Champions
ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School football team repeated as Division Four district champions with a dominating 42-14 win over Alma Friday night in Escanaba. The Eskymos will host Williamston in the regional championship game next weekend. Williamston beat Notre Dame Prep out of suburban Detroit, 47-21, Friday night. The Eskymos scored 28 unanswered points to break a 14-14 tie. A 58-yard touchdown pass from Craig Kamin to Scout Wunder in the second quarter broke the tie. Then in the third quarter, Wunder scored on a nine-yard run to make it 28-14. Cody Vandermissen had touchdown runs of 15 and 10 yards, and Kamin had TD runs of 13 and one yards. Christer Carne made all six of his extra point kicks. Escanaba improves to 9-2 on the season. Alma finishes 8-3.
