Junior Yoopers 12u Girls Hockey Wins In Minnesota

The junior yoopers 12U girls hockey team won the ICUP in Minnesota over the weekend.

The girls from all over the U.P. and northern Wisconsin won three games and tied another in pool play. The girls then posted a comeback victory in the championship game, 3-2, over the Minnesota Mustangs.
 
In the first game, the Yoopers beat the Ice Cougars Orange 3-1.

In the second game, the Yoopers won, 2-1, over Gentry Astros.

In the third game, the girls won, 4-0, over the Minnesota Cougars Gold.

In the fourth game, the U.P. girls tied the game with a shorthanded goal with 45 seconds to finish, 4-4, against the Minnesota Nordiques.

The championship game was tight all game long before the Yoopers took the lead 3-2 with seven minutes left and held on to beat the Minnesota Ice Cougars silver to win the ICUP.
