Briggs, Heim Lead Broncos To Win Over Eagles 11-3
DAGGETT---The Bark River-Harris Broncos got five strong innings on the mound from Jace Briggs, and Logan Heim delivered a two-run triple, leading to an 11-3 win over the Stephenson Eagles on Friday evening at Maverick Field in Menominee County. The Broncos took advantage of numerous errors committed by the Eagle defense, including two dropped fly balls that opened the flood gates early. Bryce Tharp threw five innings for the Eagles before he reached his 105-pitch limit. Tharp was tagged for six runs, with only two of them earned. For the Broncos, Ryan Arndt tossed two scoreless innings in relief of Briggs. The Eagles used two more pitchers after Tharp departed: Ethan Brown, who gave up four runs in the sixth inning, and Jesus Bucera, who yielded one run in the seventh inning. Heim's two-run triple came in the sixth inning, turning a 5-3 game into a 7-3 contest. Cole Ray, Kadin Mustafa and Arndt added RBI base hits earlier in the game. Ray had three hits to lead BR-H. Tharp had two hits for Stephenson, which fell to 1-6 overall. |
