Gladstone Driver Trying To Win $50K Sponsorship
GLADSTONE---Another race car driver from Gladstone is trying to win a big payday in a national contest that's run by the Champion Spark Plug Company. After teenager Jordan Ives won the $50,000 top prize in 2014, Gladstone High School graduate and Central Michigan University student Christian Groleau is giving it a shot. And you can help Groleau by doing what you did three years ago to help Ives win: vote, and vote as often as you can. Groleau certainly doesn't have the name recognition that Ives has in national racing circles, but he does have an impressive record on the track. In 2016, in 24 starts at Norway Speedway, or at the Upper Peninsula International Raceway in Escanaba, Groleau won 18 races and was the runner-up four other times. He was the 2016 UPIR champion in the 600-microsprint class, after being runner-up in that class in 2015. And at the Norway Speedway this past summer, Groleau was the Wisconsin Sport Truck Co-Driver Champion. This was his first year racing trucks. The first round of voting is under way, and runs through February 2nd, at www.championautoparts.com. You can vote every day, and you could win some Champion shirts and bumper stickers for yourself as part of the contest. You can follow the link below to check out Groleau's application and video. http://www.championautoparts.com/Promotions/search-for-a-champion.html?page=/entry/1119/
