Eskymos Beat Maroons In Another Five-Set Match
ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School girls volleyball team won another marathon match Tuesday night, rallying to beat the Menominee Maroons, 3-2. The Eskymos won the first set rather easily, 25-17, before the Maroons returned the favor in the second set, 25-15. The Maroons took the lead in the match with a 25-22 win in the third set, but the Eskymos roared back to win the fourth set, 25-14. In the fifth set, Menominee got the early jump, taking a 10-7 lead. But Escanaba scored eight of the final nine points to get the win. Escanaba has won four matches in five sets this season. The Eskymos are off until October 8th, when they host the Escanaba Elks Invitational. MARQUETTE 3, GLADSTONE 0---It was a rough night for the Gladstone Braves in Marquette Tuesday night as the Redettes ran past the Braves, 3-0. The scores were 25-11, 25-9, and 25-20.
