The Wildcats reported on Aug. 10 and have been hard at work ever since preparing for the upcoming season.
Head coach Chris Ostrowsky said that the scrimmage was a great way to have players apply what they have been learning to game situations.
"We understand every day is an opportunity to rise up," Ostrowsky said. "We placed an emphasis on situational football and making sound decisions with field position, down and distance and in the red zone."
Highlights included Justin McElroy's leaping interception in the corner of the end zone and dynamic touchdown runs by Aaron Harris and Jake Mayon.
"We were clearly competitive on both sides of the ball," Ostrowsky said. "Our players' energy continues to be the theme of this camp."
Northern Michigan breaks camp on Saturday. The Wildcats open the season on the road, taking on Lake Erie Sept. 3 at 1 p.m. They host Division II power Angelo State Sept. 10 at 4 p.m. in their first home game.
