Mistake-Prone Broncos Lose To Menominee Legion
 MENOMINEE---The Bark River-High School baseball team gave up five unearned runs and lost to the Menominee Red Wave American Legion team, 7-1, Saturday afternoon in Menominee. It was the final game of the regular season for the Broncos. Menominee scored in the first inning when Adam Nolde stole third base and scored when the throw got away. The Red Wave scored a run in the second, and then added two runs in the third inning on a Jason Janquart base hit.  Korhonen was the only Bronco to get two hits in the game, against three different Red Wave pitchers. BR-H scored its only run in the ninth inning when Kadin Mustafa was safe on an error, scoring Korhonen from third base. Nolde, less than 48 hours after leading the Menominee High School tennis team to a Great Northern Conference championship, led the Red Wave on Saturday by getting four hits and scoring two runs at the plate. Matt Richer started on the mound for the Broncos, and he allowed four runs in five innings of work. Three of those runs were unearned. Brad Vandermissen (pictured above) pitched the final three innings, allowing three runs. Two were unearned. Bark River-Harris will open MHSAA Division Four District Tournament play next Friday in Newberry against the host Indians. Game time is set for 1:00.
