Broncos Honor Seniors, Win Final Home Game 14-4
BARK RIVER---The Bark River-Harris Broncos topped the Gladstone Braves junior varsity team, 14-4, in baseball action Tuesday afternoon in Bark River. The Broncos honored seniors Jake Greenfield, Bryce Sundquist, and Drake Draze (pictured above) as they played their final regular season home game. The Gladstone JV's jumped to an early 4-0 lead on RBI base hits Doby Gillis and Jared Crow, as well as on a groundout by Carson Shea. Hall drove in six runs, including three on a walk-off bases-clearing double in the bottom of the sixth inning. That invoked the ten-run mercy rule, ending the game. Ryan Arndt pitched a complete game for the Broncos, giving up those four early runs before shutting the door on the Junior Varsity Braves the rest of the way. Gladstone's Shea made it into the third inning, before being relieved by Marcus Madden and Quinn Downey. There was some good defense on display as well, as BR-H center fielder Kadin Mustafa robbed Christian Creten of a hit and an RBI with a tumbling catch. Gladstone's Brody Sanville returned the favor as he tracked down an Arndt pop fly with a running catch. BR-H travels to Menominee on Saturday afternoon for a doubleheader.
