Rapid River Wins Track D3 Regional Championship
MUNISING---The Rapid River High School boys track team won the Division Three regional championship in Munising. Munising won the girls meet, In the boys meet, the Rockets won with 76 points. Munising was second with 58 and Engadine was third with 21. In the girls meet, the Mustangs had 78 points. Engadine was second with 35 points and Rapid River finished third with 31. Rapid River's Dan Blair won both the 800 and 1600 runs, and he was a part of the winning 1600 relay. Mason Berglund, Luke Gustafson, and Austin Wicklund (anchor) were also part of that relay winning team. Junior Jared Anderson won the 3200 run, and Berglund was the winner in the 110 hurdles. In field events, Rapid River junior Logan Hardwick took first place in both the discus and shot put. Next up are the Skyline Conference meets at North Dickinson High School, and then the U.P. Finals will be held at Kingsford High School on June 4. |
