NMU Wildcats Sign Kyle To New Two-Year Contract
MARQUETTE---Northern Michigan University announced Friday that Walt Kyle will return to coach the Wildcat hockey team for the next two seasons. Kyle has been at the helm of the NMU program for the past 13 years. "Walt and I have spoken several times over the past two weeks and he expressed his vision for the future of our program," NMU Athletic Director Forrest Karr said in a statement on Friday. "I believe in the group of student-athletes coming back and expect the team to be strong over the next two years." Kyle has compiled a 237-224-56 record over the last 13 seasons. "I'm extremely happy to have signed a new contract," Kyle said in a statement on Friday. "I love the community, the university and the hockey program here. I am extremely proud of it and am happy to be a part of it moving forward. I would like to thank the administration for their trust in myself and our staff and I truly believe these next few years are going to be bright years for our program." The terms of Kyle's new contract were not made public on Friday. |
