Menominee Defense Keeps Esky Girls Off-Balance
ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School girls basketball team had a hard time getting into an offensive flow Monday night, and the girls lost a 51-37 decision to the Menominee Maroons. Michelle LaFave was held to one basket in the first quarter, and ended up with 17 points. Amanda Simmons and Paige Brunette led Menominee with 13 points each. Menominee had a 21-10 lead in the second quarter before LaFave scored eight points in the second quarter. Sam Connor's basket cut the Maroon lead to 23-22, but Menominee scored the final two baskets of the second quarter to make it a 27-22 halftime lead. |
