Eskymos Open Season With 6-2 Win Over Redettes

ESCANABA---The high school girls tennis season began on Wednesday in the Upper Peninsula. The Escanaba Eskymos got off to a good start with a 6-2 win over the Marquette Redettes. Also on Wednesday, Negaunee and Westwood played to a 4-4 tie.

Escanaba will host Menominee Thursday morning at 11:00 at the high school and in Ludington Park. Gladstone opens its season Thursday against Marquette at 9:00 a.m. at Pfotenhauer Park. Iron Mountain visits Ishpeming and Westwood on Thursday.
